Extruded aluminium profiles are everywhere, and they are growing increasingly popular as more industries discover their benefits and it is easy to shape into advanced designs. It is versatile and it is 100 percent recyclable.

Sapa wants to bring its R&D everywhere. We are carrying out work in research, applications and development and we also work together with independent instututions across the world.

Through our product optimization we are able to offer our customers the technology to develop together new solutions and applications. The range of our products includes standard profile like tubes, bars, sideboards, drawing profiles for body pumps, special realizations for the automotive market, complete projects for the building & construction market and much more.

Many R&D projects at Sapa Technology are made by strength simulations. They are focused on achieving a deep understanding of how microstructures develop during the processing and fabrication of aluminium products, and in what ways different microstructure components influence the final properties.

Aluminium the GREEN metal

After iron, aluminium is now the second most widely used metal in the world. This is because aluminium has a unique combination of attractive properties. Low weight, high strength, superior malleability, easy machining, excellent corrosion resistance and good thermal and electrical conductivity are amongst aluminium’s most important properties. Aluminium is also very easy to RECYCLE.
